Wetlands are vital ecosystems, partially or fully submerged in water, that support rich biodiversity and provide essential ecological services, such as flood control, carbon storage, and economic opportunities for local communities. Despite their significance, Libya's coastal wetlands lack comprehensive data, hindering conservation efforts. Our project aims to create a wetland database for key sites in northeast Libya, supporting sustainable management, biodiversity protection, and climate change mitigation. By leveraging advanced technologies and engaging stakeholders, the project will help guide conservation efforts and support long-term environmental planning for the region. ~ Marine Biology of Libya Society
